Elmina Castle
A UNESCO World Heritage site, believed to be the oldest European-built structure in black Africa. Constructed in 1482 by the Portuguese this was a former stop on the Transatlantic slave route.
Cape Coast Castle
Built in 1555, this was one of around 40 "slave castles" built on the Gold Coast of West Africa.
Kakum National Park
Set in a rainforest, the National Park is home to many endangered mammals such as forest elephants, bongo antelopes and primates like the Diana monkey.
